An Open Letter for Mr. President Ferdinand Marcos
Dear Mr. President,
Every storm only makes the wounds of those who are already on the verge worse. Our country has long suffered from unemployment and poverty. Many of our Kababayans lose what little they have left during typhoons and other Calamity, frequently without access to safe shelter or the resources to rebuild. Relief supplies are helpful, but they can't take the place of a stable pay or the safety of a home.
I hope to implore the government to make investments in long-term solutions, such as building long-lasting shelters for families in need and generating steady job opportunities, rather than depending only on temporary assistance like relief goods, money given by the government. livelihood initiatives and easily accessible jobs can enable our people to overcome adversity and get ready for any calamity.
Filipinos are hardworking and resilient, Mr. President. They want the opportunity to earn, build, and live with dignity, not just handouts. We can build a future where no storm can destroy their hope by providing them with a place to live and the resources to support their families.
Respectfully
Leovinze Andrew Fenola
