A Day of Culture, Food, and Fun in Vigan

Last January 22, I had the chance to witness the lively and colorful Vigan Street Dancing, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The streets of Vigan came alive with music, traditional costumes, and energetic performances that showcased the rich culture and creativity of the participants. There were 8 contestants in total. 6 from the elementary level and 2 from the high school level, and each group gave their best to impress the crowd. Watching them dance along the historic streets made the event even more special, as culture and tradition blended perfectly with the festive atmosphere.

After the street dancing event, we decided to take a break and went to McDonald’s. It was a nice moment to relax, eat, and talk about our favorite performances from the competition. Simple moments like these made the trip more enjoyable, especially since we were tired but still excited from the event.

Next, we headed to
the Empanadaan in Plaza Burgos, which is a must-visit place when you’re in Vigan. The aroma of freshly cooked empanadas filled the area, and the place was bustling with people. Eating local food while being surrounded by the historic vibe of Vigan made the experience feel authentic and memorable.

At the end of the day, after all the walking, eating, and enjoying the events, I finally went home feeling tired but happy. The trip wasn’t just about the places we visited, it was about the experience, the culture we witnessed, and the memories made along the way.
