More Than Just Romance: Why Every Day Can Be Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day this year was not just about love in the usual romantic sense—it was actually a full and meaningful day at school and at home. In the morning, we had a recognition program that honored the outstanding performers in our school. It felt inspiring to see students being recognized for their hard work and achievements. At the same time, our teacher held a meeting where we talked about important school matters, which made the day feel both productive and memorable.

Even though the morning was more on formal activities, it still showed how appreciation can be expressed in different ways—not just through gifts, but also through recognition and encouragement. It made me realize that Valentine’s Day can also be about celebrating effort, dedication, and growth.

At night, the celebration became more personal and relaxing. My family and I had a samgyupsal dinner at home, which made the day even more special. Spending time with them, laughing, and enjoying food together reminded me that love is not only about grand gestures—it’s about simple moments shared with the people who matter most.
