Capturing Memories: ISNHS 124th Foundation Day Photoblog

Image
The ISNHS 124th Foundation Day was filled with exciting and unforgettable moments that truly showed the spirit of the school. One of the highlights of the celebration was the field demonstration, where students from Grades 7 to 11 performed. Each grade level prepared their own routines, showing effort, teamwork, and creativity. During the competition, our group of boys placed third, while the girls placed fourth. Although the results were not exactly what we hoped for, the experience itself was still meaningful. It showed how much effort everyone put into practicing and performing, and it made me appreciate the importance of teamwork and cooperation. After the field demonstration, there was supposed to be a concert in the afternoon. However, I wasn’t able to attend because we went to McDonald’s instead. Our practice teacher invited us, and we decided to spend time there together. Even though I missed the concert, the bonding moment we had made the day just as memorable in a di...

Looking Back, Moving Forward: A Quarter of Growth and Learning

Image
Looking back on the activities and events this quarter, I realized that each experience brought valuable lessons. Participating in school programs and celebrations allowed me to learn not only academically but also socially and personally. These moments helped me understand the importance of teamwork, cooperation, and active participation. There were times when activities were challenging, but they also helped me improve my confidence and communication skills. Being involved in these events made me realize that learning does not only happen inside the classroom. Sometimes, the most meaningful lessons come from experiences and interactions with others. Overall, this quarter was filled with moments that helped me grow as a student and as an individual. These experiences will remain meaningful memories that remind me to keep learning, improving, and appreciating every opportunity that comes my way.

Dreams Without Limits: Shaping My Future One Step at a Time

Image
When I think about my future, I realize that I don’t just have one dream—I have several paths that I want to explore. One of my biggest dreams is to become a doctor, specifically a medical technologist. I’ve always been interested in how the human body works and how science can help save lives. Being in the medical field means having the chance to help people in a meaningful way, and that’s something I truly admire. Another dream I have is to become a teacher. I like the idea of sharing knowledge and helping students understand lessons better. Teachers play a big role in shaping the future, and I think it would be fulfilling to inspire others and make a difference in their lives. At the same time, I’m also interested in acting because it allows me to express emotions, tell stories, and connect with people in a creative way. If things don’t go as planned, I also have a different path in mind—wrestling. What inspires me the most is that my idols are not what most people would expe...

More Than Just Romance: Why Every Day Can Be Valentine’s Day

Image
Valentine’s Day this year was not just about love in the usual romantic sense—it was actually a full and meaningful day at school and at home. In the morning, we had a recognition program that honored the outstanding performers in our school. It felt inspiring to see students being recognized for their hard work and achievements. At the same time, our teacher held a meeting where we talked about important school matters, which made the day feel both productive and memorable.     Even though the morning was more on formal activities, it still showed how appreciation can be expressed in different ways—not just through gifts, but also through recognition and encouragement. It made me realize that Valentine’s Day can also be about celebrating effort, dedication, and growth.     At night, the celebration became more personal and relaxing. My family and I had a samgyupsal dinner at home, which made the day even more special. Spending time with...

A Day of Culture, Food, and Fun in Vigan

Image
Last January 22, I had the chance to witness the lively and colorful Vigan Street Dancing, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The streets of Vigan came alive with music, traditional costumes, and energetic performances that showcased the rich culture and creativity of the participants. There were 8 contestants in total. 6 from the elementary level and 2 from the high school level, and each group gave their best to impress the crowd. Watching them dance along the historic streets made the event even more special, as culture and tradition blended perfectly with the festive atmosphere. After the street dancing event, we decided to take a break and went to McDonald’s. It was a nice moment to relax, eat, and talk about our favorite performances from the competition. Simple moments like these made the trip more enjoyable, especially since we were tired but still excited from the event. Next, we headed to the Empanadaan in Plaza Burgos, which is a must-visit place when you’re in Vi...

Learning Through Challenges: My Third Quarter Reflection

During the Third Quarter, I gained meaningful learning experiences that helped me grow academically and personally. I learned to think more critically and express my ideas clearly through various writing tasks such as reflections and blog posts. Discussions about historical figures, especially Jose Rizal, and social issues allowed me to better understand the relevance of lessons in real life. This quarter also helped me develop confidence in sharing my thoughts and improved my overall writing and comprehension skills. Despite these accomplishments, I encountered several challenges throughout the Third Quarter. Managing my time became difficult due to overlapping deadlines from different subjects. There were moments when I felt stressed and overwhelmed, especially during performance tasks and written activities. I also struggled with organizing my ideas properly and ensuring that my work was both meaningful and well-structured. To overcome these challenges, I learned to plan my sc...

Jose Rizal, the Face of the Philippines

Image
Jose Rizal is widely recognized as the face of the Philippines because of his profound influence on the nation’s identity, freedom, and intellectual awakening. His greatest contribution to Philippine society was his use of peaceful resistance through education, writing, and reform, which inspired Filipinos to recognize injustice and fight for national dignity without violence. Through his novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, Rizal exposed the abuses of Spanish colonial rule, particularly the corruption of friars and the suffering of ordinary Filipinos. These works awakened the national consciousness of the people, encouraging them to question oppression and assert their rights. His writings became powerful tools that united Filipinos and fueled the desire for reform and independence. Beyond literature, Rizal’s advocacy for education emphasized the importance of knowledge as a means of liberation. He believed that an enlightened society could overcome tyranny and build a ...

Weaving Culture, Enriching the Future: Empowering Indigenous Communities

Image
The celebration of the Philippines’ National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month highlights the importance of recognizing Indigenous Cultural Communities as vital contributors to national development. With the theme “Weaving Culture, Enriching Future: Empowering Indigenous Communities as Bedrock of Sustainable Development,” this month-long observance reminds us that progress does not mean abandoning traditions, but rather embracing them as foundations for a stronger future. Indigenous peoples preserve rich cultural heritage through their languages, traditions, knowledge systems, and deep connection with nature. Their practices in farming, weaving, medicine, and environmental protection show sustainable ways of living that modern society can learn from. By valuing these traditions, we ensure that development remains respectful, inclusive, and environmentally responsible. Empowering indigenous communities also means protecting their rights—especially their ancestral lands, education, and acces...
The Christmas season is a time of love, joy, and togetherness. It is not only about receiving gifts but also about sharing moments with family and friends. During Christmas, people come together to celebrate, forgive, and appreciate one another. The true essence of Christmas can be felt through the warmth and kindness that surrounds everyone during this special season. This Christmas, my experience was full of fun and love from the people around me. I spent meaningful time with my family, and I truly felt how much they care for me. Even though we did not have many activities outside, the happiness I felt at home made the celebration special and memorable. However, there was also a challenge during the season. My phone was damaged and would not turn on anymore, which made me feel sad at first. Thankfully, my mom bought me a new phone, and I am very grateful for the gift they gave me. I also received ₱2,000 as aguinaldo since I did not go out much, but I was still thankful for what...

President Elpidio Quirino: lets dive in to his Life, Career, and Achievements

Image
Date: November 24, 2025 President Elpidio Quirino is one of the most significant leaders in Philippine history, remembered for his perseverance, nationalism, and dedication to rebuilding a nation devastated by war. Born on November 16, 1890, in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Quirino grew up in a humble household where hard work and education were greatly valued. Despite the challenges of poverty, he excelled academically and later pursued law at the University of the Philippines, eventually passing the bar in 1915. His early life reflects the story of a Filipino who rose from humble beginnings to a position of great responsibility. Quirino’s political career began when he became a congressman and later a senator, where he actively contributed to shaping national policies. He played a major role in the Philippine Independence Mission, which aimed to secure full freedom from American rule. His dedication and leadership eventually led to significant milestones, including the Tydings-McDuffie Act...

National Children's Month

Image
Date: November 14, 2025 The 2025 National Children’s Month Celebration carries the powerful theme: “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!” This theme reminds us that protecting children—especially in online spaces—is not only a responsibility but a moral duty. As technology becomes more present in our daily lives, children become more exposed to risks such as online exploitation, grooming, and abuse. This year’s celebration calls on the whole nation to take active steps in ending Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and stopping the spread of Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM). From my perspective, the government has been strengthening efforts to protect children’s safety and dignity. Laws such as the Anti-OSAEC Law (Republic Act 11930) and the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act show that the government acknowledges the severity of the problem. Agencies like DSWD, PNP Wo...

Image
The Heritage City of Vigan is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved historical places in the Philippines. Known for its cobblestone streets, Spanish colonial houses, and horse-drawn carriages called kalesa, Vigan truly captures the essence of the past while blending it with the energy of the present. Walking through Calle Crisologo feels like stepping back in time, surrounded by the stunning architecture and warm hospitality of the Ilocano people. Aside from its historical beauty, Vigan also offers a wide range of local industries and products that showcase the creativity and culture of its people. One of the most famous is burnay pottery, where skilled artisans create traditional clay jars that have been part of Vigan’s identity for centuries. Tourists can also enjoy local delicacies such as empanada, longganisa, and bagnet, which represent the rich culinary heritage of the region. Second Quarter: Another memory

Image
This second quarter has been a time of growth and new discoveries for me. I have learned many important lessons not only from our academic subjects but also from real-life experiences. I gained deeper understanding in subjects like English, Science, and ESP, especially in developing my skills in writing reflections, analyzing literary works, and participating in group activities. I also discovered the importance of time management and teamwork, which helped me balance schoolwork and personal responsibilities. However, the quarter was not without challenges. One of the hardest parts was managing multiple deadlines while trying to keep up with lessons that were sometimes difficult to understand. There were moments when I felt stressed and overwhelmed, especially during performance tasks and group projects. Internet connection issues and lack of focus also made some activities more challenging, especially during online or research-related tasks. To overcome these challenges, I learn...
The 2025 Teacher’s Month Celebration with the theme “My Teacher, My Hero” reminds us of the valuable role that teachers play in shaping our minds and our futures. Teachers are not just individuals who teach lessons inside classrooms—they are true heroes who dedicate their time, patience, and energy to guide us through challenges and help us achieve our dreams. This celebration honors their selfless service and recognizes their lasting impact on society. Teachers serve as the foundation of every learner’s success. They inspire students to believe in their potential, help them discover their strengths, and teach them how to overcome weaknesses. Despite the difficulties of modern education, including adapting to new technologies and diverse learning needs, teachers continue to show passion and resilience. Their ability to balance care, discipline, and motivation makes them everyday heroes in our lives. To express my gratitude and respect for my teachers, I show appreciation through ...

THE RISE OF SCIENCE

Image
Science has always been the key that unlocks the mysteries of the world, guiding society toward growth and survival. This year’s National Science Month theme, “Harnessing the Unknown: Powering the Future through Science and Innovation,” reminds us of the endless possibilities waiting to be discovered. The unknown, once feared, now represents opportunities for breakthroughs that can transform the way people live, work, and interact with their environment.    The role of science in society is not only to discover but also to create solutions to pressing global problems. In the coming decades, innovations in renewable energy, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and space exploration will shape industries and communities. These advancements will not only provide convenience but also address urgent challenges like climate change, public health, and food security. Science thus becomes a bridge that connects knowledge with the survival and progress of humankind. ...

Climate Change and The Effect to Filipinos and how they Stand Up and Rebuild There Selfs Again

Image
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges faced by the Philippines today. Sudden disasters like typhoons and floods, as well as progressive changes such as droughts and rising sea levels, have severely affected the lives of many Filipinos. These environmental problems are mainly caused by human activities, deforestation, excessive use of fossil fuels, and pollution, all of which worsen global warming and weaken the environment’s ability to protect us. Despite these hardships, Filipinos are known for their resiliency . Time and again, communities unite to rebuild their homes, share resources, and practice bayanihan whenever disaster strikes. This strength gives hope and shows how Filipinos can rise above adversity. However, resiliency alone will not solve the issue if its root causes are left unaddressed. That is why collective action is needed. Filipinos must embrace sustainable practices, support stronger environmental laws, and raise awareness about climate ch...

INTRAMURALS: An Experience to Always Remember

Image
This year’s intramurals at ISNHS was nothing short of exciting, colorful, and unforgettable. From energyfilled competitions to the unity among different grade levels, it became a true celebration of sportsmanship, talent, and school pride. One of the most memorable parts for me was watching my classmates’ band perform. Seeing them on stage, giving their best, and hearing the crowd cheer was such a proud moment. Their music added life to the event and made the atmosphere even more vibrant. Another highlight was supporting our candidate for Ms. Intramurals. We were all hyped, cheering, waving banners, and showing our full support. When her name was announced as the winner, the whole section erupted in joy. It wasn’t just her victory but also ours, because of the effort, unity, and encouragement we gave. That moment of pride and happiness is something I will never forget. The intramurals wasn’t just about games or competitions, it was about unity, fun, and creating lasting memo...

Waves of Changes Starts and Ends with Us

Image
Last weekend, our group went to Choco surf for a film activity. While we were there, I noticed that the beach was filled with trash. Plastics, bottles, and wrappers were scattered everywhere, making the place look messy and harmful to the environment. Because of this, I decided to join the coastal clean-up activity. Even though I was by myself, I did my part to help clean the beach. I picked up bottles, bags, and even bulky trash that was left behind. At first, it felt overwhelming because there was so much waste, but little by little, the areas I cleaned started to look much better. I gathered more trash than I expected, and the bags I brought weren’t enough to hold everything. Some of the garbage I had to place in the trash bins around the beach. It was tiring, but seeing the beach cleaner afterward made all the effort worth it. This experience showed me that it doesn’t matter if you are only alone helping is what actually matters and the willingness to act. Even small efforts...
